A performance diptych exploring sense of self and mimicry.

Self Portrait: Echolalia - The performer stands blindfolded. An audio recording of his voice is heard reciting the same piece of text over and over, gradually breaking down until it is just sounds. The live performer attempts to recite the same text at the same time.

Self Portrait: Echopraxia - The performer sits. A video of the performer doing a repetitive movement sequence is shown. The movements become faster and more complex. The live performer attempts to do the same movements at the same time.
